Could Bitcoin really hit $100,000 (£71,590) ?
Saxo Bank Analyst, Kay Van-Petersen who in December 2016 predicted that bitcoin would reach $2,000 in 2017, now believes that it could hit between $50,000 and $100,000 in 2018.
As we know Bitcoin shot past the $2,000 mark in May 2017 clearly showing that Van-Petersen had her eye on the ball. Especially as when she made her bold prediction bitcoin hadn’t reached $900.
EXPECT THE SAME PERFORMANCE FROM OTHER DIGITAL COINS
Van-Petersen revealed this on Tuesday February 20th during an interview on CNBC and she stated that she expected other digital coins to perform the same way.
Van-Petersen also commented that bitcoin has had an ‘appropriate correction’ with the 50% pull back at one point although she clearly believes we have not seen the full effect of the futures contracts.
ULTRA CAUTIOUS REGULATORS
Elsewhere we still have the ultra cautious regulators, in some major cryptocurrency markets, still looking to clamp down on trading and in China the central bank have suggested that authorities block centralized trading in virtual currencies. In South Korea discussions are also taking place about banning some exchanges.
